What inspired you to start your business?

I had always wanted to invent products and run my own company, I just didn’t know what to start with. It was when I had my son that I was faced with the challenge of taking care of him while balancing my career that it all came together and my idea of SwipenSnap came to life.

What advice would you give to other women entrepreneurs?

Walk into your fears, if you are scared of making a mistake - make it. If you are scared of being alone - be alone. If you are scared of asking for help - ask. And stop making excuses for why you can’t do something, there will always be roadblocks and sometimes very high walls - be a bulldozer

What three traits define you?

• Determined - I go for whatever I set my mind to and don’t let anything or anyone stop me.
• Optimistic - I can always find the positive out of every situation.
• Creative - I have a passion for bringing ideas to life.

What are the biggest obstacles you see facing young female entrepreneurs?

Themselves, their mindsets and what they think they can’t do or accomplish. So many women have the skills and abilities to go beyond what they can even imagine, but they often limit themselves by not being confident and not believing that they can do anything they put their minds to.

What do you love about being a business owner?

The ability to constantly learn and grow, not just in the business but as an individual. I really love the challenge of trying to find solutions and strategies to all of the different situations that arise

How do you define success?

A healthy balance between, a career that you are passionate about, spending quality time with people (that you love who bring you up and empower you) all while nurturing your body mind and spirit.

What’s the best way to start your day?

With gratitude for the simple things in life - warm bed, clean water and hugs!

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An inventor that runs my own company and a painter.

How do you unwind after a long workday?

Yoga, run and mediate.
