What inspired you to start your business?

·We were trying to use up scraps to make our sun protective shirts and developed the Pomchie. (A Pom-Pom that meets a scrunchie).

How has being a WBENC-Certified WBE helped your business?

We have been able to use it on all our packaging.

As a business owner, what keeps you up at night?

Money. Making sure everything gets paid on time.

What do you love about being a business owner?

Inventing or adding new products to our line.

What's the hardest part about being a business owner?

Making sure everything runs smoothly.

What's your favorite career moment?

Receiving my largest PO because of a letter I wrote to a company owner.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Work and workout more.

What are you reading or listening to now?

John Grisham’s The Rooster Bar.

What’s the best way to start your day?

Yoga, spin, hiking, running… some kind of exercise.

How do you unwind after a long workday?

Have a glass of red wine with my husband.

What do you like about your workspace?

We make fun products, so we try to have fun. It is small and right at home. On busy days we work non-stop. On slow days we have time to brainstorm, catch up, and build Pomchies together.

Pomchies is a small woman owned business selling lifestyle and hair accessories. All accessories are made from swimwear fabric. These products are available in a variety of colors including fashion colors and your favorite team colors. The original product was a Pom Pom meets a Scrunchie in 2002. Since then, Pomchies has grown to lanyards, key keepers, headbands, luggage identifiers, and more. .
