Kim Lawton

CEO of Enthuse Marketing Group

What inspired you to start your business?

My dad. He was a serial entrepreneur; he owned and operated a variety of businesses throughout my childhood which inspired me to start my own.

What advice would you give to other women entrepreneurs?

Take advantage of all of the resources out there and do not be afraid to ask for help. Join groups and communities like the Enthuse Foundation, which is our non-profit organization created to support women entrepreneurs on their journey. Surround yourself around “like-minded” people, or those who are potentially going through similar circumstances, to help you feel connected and not on an island all alone.

What do you see as the coolest or most important trend in your industry?

More women opening their own businesses, plus funding going in that direction!

What three traits define you?

Relentless, focused and driven. I’m a practical thinker (I recognize that you can’t go from 0-100 and there are steps along the way). Value people and am unafraid to ask for help.

What do you love about being a business owner?

Exploring new things, taking “calculated” risks, and then seeing that idea move into action.

Fill in the blank:

When I face a challenge, I…think of all the possibilities that could happen and who I know that could help me.

If I could go back in time, I would tell myselfmistakes are not the end of the world, and everything is considered a learning opportunity.

The one thing I couldn’t live without is… coffee. I only have 1-2 cups per day, but I love it.

The best thing that happened to me last week was… meeting our field team in-person! Over 40 new hires that I had previously only engaged with via Zoom!

To get my creative juices flowing, I…tell myself it’s “never been done before”!!!
