What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for 15 plus years as a stylist and salon owner. As a wellness/fitness enthusiast, I always understood that beauty starts from within and that is something that I have always educated my clients about. I enjoy helping women achieve being the best versions of themselves and that starts with living a healthy lifestyle. Over the years, I found that many women complained about being too busy to take vitamins or they forgot or they just simply don’t like to. This is why Beautylixirs was created, for the woman on-the-go seeking to live a healthier lifestyle that promotes beauty and wellness in a bottle.
What advice would you give to other women entrepreneurs?
I’m speaking to myself as well as I’m typing.

It’s very important to put your well-being first.

Surround yourself with like minded individuals because sometimes we have to motivate one another.

Don’t give up. If one way doesn’t work, try a different way until it does

What women inspire you?
Oprah, Bethany Frankel and Jennifer Lopez. There are so many things I can say about Oprah. Why she inspires me so much is because she has shown me that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from or the obstacles you’ve faced, you can still achieve the American dream by simply making that choice that you will not give up and it’s yours to get if you are willing to work for it. Bethany Frankel is the one I followed from the very beginning of the Housewives. I watched her grow from not being able to pay her rent to creating this idea that took off as the ‘Skinny Girl Margarita’ and from there she has expanded into other products. I said if she can do it so can I. Jennifer Lopez is such a beautiful woman not only on the outside but the inside. I’ve grown up watching her career from ‘In Living Color’ to her movie stardom, becoming a fashion icon and launching her perfume line and doing what she loves best on stage performing all while staying positive, believing in love and being a great mother. She’s living that dream that we all pray for.
What do you see as the coolest or most important trend in your industry?
People are living longer and wanting to age gracefully. They are seeking healthier alternatives and becoming more active. The beauty industry is keeping up with that trend by creating new innovative products that appeals to the older generation and that’s a great thing.
What’s the hardest part about being a business owner?
As a start up company that recently launched in July 2019, the hardest part is getting the funding to market new products. You have to physically get out there yourself to knock on doors to get your brand noticed. Social media is a great avenue to reach people you may not come in contact with and you also have to make the time to utilize that. In the beginning, you are wearing many hats to get your company going.
How do you define success?
One sentence~ ‘Being able to fearlessly walk and live in your purpose.’ That is my goal to achieve in 2020.
What are you reading or listening to now?
My 2020 books that I’m reading ‘GO for NO’ , ‘The Magic of Thinking Big’ and ‘As a Man Thinketh’. My go to podcast to learn is Gary Vee.
What’s the best way to start your day?

No technology before my morning meditation/prayer right when I wake up.

When I face a challenge, I... try to figure out what to learn from it so I can grow.
If I could go back in time, I would tell myself… at 18 years old don’t be afraid, get out there and just do it. Do not let dysfunctional unsupportive people with selfish motives hold you back. Everything will work itself out if you get out there into the world and do it. There’s always a way.
The one thing I couldn’t live without is… great moisturizer.
By this time next year, I will be… living and walking in my purpose.
The best thing that happened to me last week was… seeing my products displayed and sold at the Golden Nugget inside their Spa.
To get my creative juices flowing, I… go for an outdoor jog.
